About Elaine Taranu Art

Always had a pencil or pen in my hand drawing until I was able, later in life, to devote more time to oil and acrylic painting. Although I  love exploring and learning, my paintings remain colourful and often whimsical . My work has been featured in galleries  in Canada and the US and I was lucky to win  several awards. 

My work is influenced by the vibrant colours of nature, shades and rays of light. I use shapes and colours to create a peaceful and pleasant gestalt. I also like to be inspired by archetypal symbols and create pieces that are both visually engaging  and harmonious.
